T2 Lchf Struggling At Running Longer Distances.

Excuse my spelling errors, I am using the app on the phone and I’m blaming the fat fingers and tiredness playing it’s part too [emoji23]

T2 Lchf Struggling At Running Longer Distances.

I usually feel ok in the high threes, if gets lower than that I feel i and I will use dextro tabs. To be honest I just don’t think I had enough training in the legs and that was the cause of my tiredness at 12km. I personally think I would perform best at normal BSLs like 4-5, it’s just so...

T2 Lchf Struggling At Running Longer Distances.

Yep big fan and follower of his blog. I did ok 1hr 54. Struggled at 12km, BSL fell to 4.2 according to Libre but then I made some of my own glucose it seems as it slowly went up and I finished the race in the high 4s. No external glucose taken.

T2 Lchf Struggling At Running Longer Distances.

Hi, I am running a half M tomorrow and plan to do it with no external source of glucose during the run. I am LC <30g a day, some days no carbs, just meat, eggs and cheese. My preparation could have been better, my longest run was 17km, but I am sure I can make up the 4.1km on the day. Thankfully...

Chia seeds, need some more ways to eat them [emoji3]

I like to add some Almond butter (get the 100% almond brand which is not sweetened) to something like this, really makes it taste great! Also, almond milk is nice instead of coconut. Other seeds and chopped nuts, berries if you eat them, full fat dairy or dairy free yogurt (e.g. coconut yogurt)...

Better HbA1c, but now high cholesterol

It is quite common to experience this when you move to a LC diet. I am basing that on what I have seen on this forum many times, my own experience and other forums on Facebook and the like, e.g. Typeonegrit. My LDL increased substantially, but so too did the "Good" cholesterol HDL and TG...

Low carb - but high sugars - advice please!

I agree @StewartH and what you say above is exactly my experience also. I am taking 1 unit of fast acting insulin with my high protein, low carb meals (I still have some insulin production), 1 unit of fast acting insulin when I get up for DP and it really seems to be doing the trick for me...

    Low carb

Agree, it is no surprise really given the high levels of refined carbs and sugars consumed nowadays. However, I do have non-diabetic family members with HbA1c levels in the 4's.

    Low carb

@Nidge247 @Kristin251 Nidge well done on your control with diet alone. I don't think this is uncommon among those not quite full T1 and not fitting into the T2 category either. I too am one of these diabetics, I know it is referred to as 1.5 or LADA, but there is nothing definitive on it that...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

On DX 10.1 3.5 years ago, 3 months later 7.0, then 5.3 - 5.8 over past three years. last test almost 6 months ago was 5.5, expecting a high 5 or low 6 at next test in 4 weeks time as a result of high BS experienced in last month. Things are back on track this week, so hopefully 4 weeks of good...
