Thanks everyone. I had a figure of 1 somewhere in my head and also of multiplying or dividing by 18 but it was forgetting about dividing by 100 that was confusing me!!!

What's the conversion rate to French blood sugar levels

I can't remember how I convert my blood sugar level to the French rate. Can someone help me please, I have to go for my six monthly checkup next week and whilst my GP actually speaks very good English, when I told her my blood sugar had been around 7 she hadn't got a clue what I meant and I had...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

9.3 this morning. Had a week of being in the mid 10's, don't know why, after a month of being 8-9 which is my lowest since diagnosed in November, so hopefully getting back on track.

The 8 week blood sugar diet

I've been doing this diet for 13 days now and have found it very easy to stick to 800 calories of normal food - not following his food plans, just counting my own calories. I am a serial diet failer, just putting more and more weight on over the last 25 years but I have lost 7lbs in 2 weeks...

    Why do we take Metformin?

It seems that when I read through these forums there seem to be no positive affects of Metformin. People say it won't help with weight loss, it won't help bring down your BG, it WILL upset your stomach. So why do we take it?

    Newly diagnosed Type2

I was diagnosed in November and my BG was 21.9. Within a fortnight I managed to get this down to around 12 or 13 and before Christmas I was down to around 9 on average but having relaxed my diet over the festive period I'm back up to around 12 again. I've never experienced anything like this...

    New Type 2

Champagne and dry white wine are best or vodka, whisky, gin with diet mixers. Beer and cider are worst. I am on 850mg metformin twice a day and have seen no adverse effect with alcohol (had quite a lot over the Christmas period!) Seems like too many doctors just prescribe some drugs and say...

Can anyone remember the Codefree website and discount code?

I need some new strips for my Codefree monitor. Someone kindly posted their own website address and the discount code for the strips before but I can't find it. Can anyone help please?

    Chocolate

I've never been a lover of dark chocolate but started having one square of 85% Lindt chocolate in the evenings if I felt the urge. Last week we had lunch with friends and had the dark chocolate with coffee at the end of the meal, obviously less than 70% because it tasted so sweet I was glad...

Fast remedy for constipation in time for Christmas please!!!

Sounds interesting! I actually had a couple of large glasses of clementine juice and a fairly mild chilli (didn't want anything too explosive!) and it's started things moving. No more pain at least, and my stomach no longer feels rock hard. My mum, who is 85 and hasn't done dinner for the...

Fast remedy for constipation in time for Christmas please!!!

I've had that stuff when I had a colonoscopy and I cerrtainly don't want to be cleaned out THAT much for Christmas! Besides, it tastes vile. If I hadn't had a nurse standing over me while I drank it I most certainly wouldn't have! As for the Squatty Potty ad, I saw that a few weeks ago and...

Fast remedy for constipation in time for Christmas please!!!

Oh the French LOVE their suppositories and that's probably what the pharmacist will offer - but not for me I'm afraid. It will have to be something oral!!!

Fast remedy for constipation in time for Christmas please!!!

Yes I've been drinking more. I've never been good at drinking a lot, apart from just before I was diagnosed, when I was drinking about 12 glasses of Squash a day but now I'm back down to about 3 glasses of water, so I've been trying to up that. Of course, I'd forgotten all about Andrews, don't...
