    Sr metformin and stomach acid

    Hi all I'm t2 and and a range of medication for it and just had my metformin changed to Sr as I was having side effects from the normal one but since I have been on the Sr I have been getting terrible stomach acid and been told that I can't have gaviscon so I'm now at a loss
