Type 1 low blood sugar symptoms

When I am having a very bad hypo I have at times felt thirsty, though 'extreme' thirst is something I normally feel when running very high so yeah that must be very confusing at times

    2nd Az shot experience?

I had my 2nd dose (Astra) recently and I am having more hypos than I usually do, but the 2nd does is definitely more mild in terms of any other reactions. Just keep extra eye on your levels after your final jab and hopefully you'll be all good

Covid vaccine and T1D, what are your views?

I had my 1st dose on Saturday (Astra) and my levels have actually been fairly stable, however that night I had the worst fever I've had in a long time and felt absolutely awful. But the following day I've pretty much fully recovered apart from a sore arm

Got mine booked for this weekend and genuinely looking forward to it! Been type 1 for only 3 years but the one year I forgot to do my flu jab I was constantly ill... so I've learnt my lesson regarding vaccines - they are essential!

    Depression and Diabetes

Hi, Totally get what you're going through, been going through something similar recently. I would definitely recommend speaking to your nurse, after I spoke to mine regarding my mood swings and feelings of depression they arranged for me to speak to a diabetic psychologist which really helped...

How do you get on with Lantus?

I've recently been using lantus and take 15 units every day 2pm but I do seem to be suffering more hypos during the evening so I'm not sure if it's doing me much good. Plus Im getting the cramps as well! Though I didn't realise you could split the lantus so I might try start doing that!

    Blurry vision

hey I was recently diagnosed and when I came out of hospital I had the same experience. But after about 3-4weeks my eyesight went back to normal. It's quite a shock at first cause it such a tangible thing when you notice your eyesight is not right. But fear not it will go back to normal, mine...

    Injection sites

I use my thighs for lantus and novarapid on my stomach. Haven't said that I'm starting to see some red spots on my stomach and I'm quite skinny so don't have much flab. May need to start looking at other parts of my body.

    Supermarket carb values

It's truly frustrating and I find going food shopping a real chore having recently been diagnosed. I feel like I'm constantly doing maths, especially when they only label carb amounts per 100g. But I would definitely recommend getting the 'Carb and Cals' app. It seems to have a wide selection...

    Hi... newly diagnosed Type 1

Hey thanks for the response. Sounds like we had the exact same experience and glad to hear your vision has returned to normal. Luckily my eyes are starting to get better now, I'm still wearing reading glasses but only when I look at a digital screen. Fingers crossed I'll have my vision back to...

    Hi... newly diagnosed Type 1

Yeah slowly and surely I'm getting there. It can be a silent disease, cause there's been times where I feel completely fine, but my blood sugar levels will tell me something different. Though the whole blurry vision was a real shock at first, cause my whole life I've had a perfect vision. So...
