    Standard NHS advice on diet

Yes, I stopped the Ramipril today and will see if the cough goes away and then get the drug changed next week if it does. It's the only way to prove to myself that it's the Ramipril as I've spoke to my doctor and diabetic nurse about it and they both brushed me off.

    Standard NHS advice on diet

I've not got a scanner to hand but the same information about starchy food is given on the NHS Website: http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Diabetes-t ... style.aspx and cut down fat etc. I already have changed by diet and the results speak for themselves. It has been by reducing my carb intake that...

Must say that this website has been a great help and I'm now a converted low carb (80-100g max daily) with plenty of meat...

    MY IGNORANCE

I'm T2 and was diagnosed in Oct last year. First I tested FBG in the morning and worked on bringing that down to below 5.6. I then went onto testing food types by testing before, 1 hour and two hours after food. The targets I set are below 7.8 after 1 hour and below 6.7 after 2 hours. Before...

    Testing strips

Yes, I think by understanding how to interpet SMBG levels it's possible to lower HbA1c by more than the study and personally I lower my carb intake to reduce BG levels. About 1 to 1.5% for me by reducing carbs to about 140g daily. Dave type 2

    Testing strips

Diabetes Care volume 28 number 6, June 2005 makes a good case for doctors to prescribe test strips by showing that Hba1c was reduced by 0.39% with people with type 2 who monitoried BG. It goes on to say that this reduces the risk of microvascular by 14%. This must offer good value for the NHS...
