    Hydroxychlroquinine

Since HCQ is the flavour of the season, I was just reading up on it. Apparently, HCQ increases insulin sensitivity & also lowers blood sugar & in some countries, it's approved as an add-on treatment for T2 Diabetes. So I was wondering anyone here has been on HCQ for diabetes or if not...

Anyone here who uses only Bolus & no Basal or very less basal?

I have also moved to something similar now. I started with 70% basal & 30% bolus, then to 50-50 & then 30-70. But now I take only bolus (old style Insulin R). Not taking basal affects me a bit only before breakfast & before dinner. My sugar levels are 15-20 points higher before breakfast &...

Anyone here who uses only Bolus & no Basal or very less basal?

Thank you. I have a few more questions if you don't mind. - Have you done a "basal test" to figure out if you need basal additional to whatever your pancreas provides? - How long since you have been diagnosed with T2?

    Is control easier with insulin?

Didn't notice. Thank you. But hopefully, anyone else reading this will understand the seriousness of a 29.9 sugar level.

Anyone here who uses only Bolus & no Basal or very less basal?

Yes. I do take Metformin & I know that it blocks liver dumps. But most T2 on insulin also take metformin, so I was just curious to know if there are others who have very reduced or no external basal needs

    Is control easier with insulin?

Irrespective of whether you need to take insulin long term or not, you really need to go the emergency room & get your levels down to manageable. That reading is very, very dangerous. For the rest of your question, I was on Metformin, Gliclazide & Teneligliplin but my control was terrible. With...

Anyone here who uses only Bolus & no Basal or very less basal?

My basal (long acting - NPH, Lantus etc) insulin needs seem to be very less as compared my bolus (fast acting) needs. I was wondering if there was anyone else (T2s obviously) here who takes no basal or less basal as compared to bolus? And has their blood sugar under control. How much basal &...

    SD Glucometer - accuracy

Taught by who? And if you were taught that it's not accurate, then why do you continue using it?

    SD Glucometer - accuracy

Thank you everyone for your replies Slightly high is how much higher - is it like 5% higher or 20% higher (Sorry I am unable to understand the notations in the paper). I am a T2 on insulin hence want to be a little careful.

    SD Glucometer - accuracy

Hmm 20% is quite a high margin of error!

    SD Glucometer - accuracy

Hi Guys, I am currently using the Accu-Chek Glucometer. However, I recently noticed that SD's strips are half the cost of the Accu-Chek Strips, though SD's glucometer isn't cheap. This Glucometer isn't very well known where I am & hence not so many reviews about it & hence I want to know...
