    Ideas for a lean pumper?

I am slim simular to you, I have been pumping for a couple of years and only recently started placing cannula in the fleshy part of my buttocks. More to the top and side of my buttock. Needed a change from my abdomin but was reluctant (not sure why) to use this area. I had to change my ratios...

I have a running belt that I wear under clothing. It is elasticated and has 3 pockets. I use a 70mm tube. Sometimes I use the plastic clip that attaches to my trouser belt.

Constant issues with Accu-Chek infusion sets

I use the insight but never had the same issue as you. When starting on a pump I was told to change cannula every three days. In the last month or so I had to change the cannula after two days due to very high bG’s. Not had any problems since. I’m thin but found it best to place the cannula...

    Infusion Sites For Lean Adults

Hi Colin, I’m fairly lean and rotate my Insight flex cannula’s between abdominal area and back of arms. Four weeks in each area. I place cannula at the top back of my arm, just above my tricep. I use a 70mm tube and either place Pump in an elastic belt or clip it into pocket. Hope this helps.

    Pump Users And Shift Work....

I have set 3 programs on my Insight Pump. Day off, earlies and lates. I started with day off profile then tweaked it to suit my early and late start times. I also have to change my eating ratios. My late finish is midnight, so I’m in bed by 1 am. Day off profile is only 1 unit more of insulin...

    Glasgow Airport

Gatwick Airport. I went through metal detector, then explained I couldn’t go through body scanner. I had to wait for supervisor, he repeatedly told me it was safe to go through scanner as it only detected moisture. My pump manufacturer said don’t use scanner so I waited again to be taken to a...

    Accu-Chek 360 connection problems

Hi Heyrehair, to load 360 I first have to click on Accu-Chek 360 Connection Manager This places a small lighthouse icon on my task bar. I then click on 360 Diabetes Management System icon that’s on my home screen. Once this has loaded I connect my meter via USB. When 4 arrows appear on meter...

where do you put your cannulas?

Hello Nomi, I also use the insight. I use the underside of my arm near the tricep area. Using a mirror, bend your arm at elbow, exposing loose skin under your arm (bat wings). I use a 70mm tube. For me this area has the same absorption rate as my stomach area.

    accu chek insight

Hello @IceLover, I have had my Insight pump for 10 months and I love it. I can't compare as this is my first pump. So far I've only had one occlusion in the cannula, no faults with pump or the metre. The speed of the metre is only slow compared to a modern phone. Speed hasn't been an...

    Which Pump?

I have only used the insight pump for 8 months, so can't compare. But I love my pump. I haven't experienced any of the negative comments on this thread, (lucky me). There are online PDF manuals that you can download. This helped me understand all the functions before starting with the pump...

    Pump strap and high readings

I started with insight pump in October, while at work or out of house I use a flip-belt next to my body, (very comfortable). Pump is warm but has had no noticeable effect on novorapid insulin.
