It's taking 45 min for my fast acting insulin to kick in. My doctors say that's not possible. Is this normal? How long does it take for yours to respond?

I've read fast acting insulin should start to work after 15 min. I'm finding my blood only starts to come down after 1.5 hours after I've taken NovoRapid. Is this normal or should I look at a different fast acting insulin?

I had gestational diabetes which turned into T1... But I somehow think Iv been diabetic for many years and just not been diagnosed as used to have massive hypos. In my 20's... Any how been diagnosed for 3 years now - but not been told much barring what I've read... Been living in denial and...

Can you fall into a coma if readings are too high? If so how high?

@tim2000s Wow... Insightful - yes I have bed. In denial and incredibly angry... Why me?!?! I've led such a healthy life style - then get gestational diabetes which turned into T1... Finally letting go of the anger as its only hurting me... Now time to embrace change - just hope I haven't done...

Thanks Brett, what I usually find is I'll be in the middle of a meeting when the alarm goes off and I'll think - must remember to take blood after meeting... Feeling frustrated as I don't really know the right etiquette?

Have very demanding and stressful job and keep forgetting to eat meals or take insulin when I do, or forget to check blood 2 hours later to see if carb counting is accurate. Been T1 for 3 years and totally not under control... Any tips? #needhelp :-)
