    Too much

@star22 - sorry to hear of your diagnosis experience. I feel I could well have had a similar experience as I was in despair when I found out I was diabetic. I feel lucky that I came across relevant information just in time and had a diabetes consultant willing to hold off on medication other...

    Night time lows

Just started using the Libre recently and also was surprised to see the overnight results showing lots of visits to the low 3's. I'd never measured my BG overnight but assumed it would be in the range I normally experience during the day 4.5-7.0. Being an unmedicated type 2 I don't get...

    First Libre Help

Thankyou, the sensor has started now. For some reason I thought it only required NFC. I enabled blue tooth and after a couple of goes it started.

    First Libre Help

Just trying to scan my first Libre 2 sensor. Have an NFC enabled android phone with the Libre Link App. Sensor went into my arm fine, but there is no reaction when I put my phone up to my arm. Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

    Going on holiday

I've found the major European capitals to be very accommodating for low carb. Its a thing and many menus have low carb marked or keto marked. Also searching for low carb places hasn't been too restrictive in the few large cities I've been to since my diagnosis. About 17-18 years ago I...

    Hospital/Gp

I was initially under the care of a hospital, then discharged to the GP. I was surprised last year when my GP contacted me twice within the year to do my "annual" review so I actually had two reviews. When I went to the last review they also seemed not to have the prior results of the tests...

Managing Type 2 Diabetes Naturally (eventually)

@serebor - Thanks. Answers to your qns: Salt: I have not knowingly adjusted my salt intake further to going low carb. I expect that due to dropping a lot of the processed foods I used to eat that overall my salt may even have gone down. I do add use it in most cooked dishes but not more...

    Going high with exercise

@Rachox - interesting. I too can't do much about exercise spikes as also T2 diet controlled. When I do midday excercise I often find that pre-prandial reading will start off 6 and above, and then after my main meal the 90 min post-prandial reading will be lower. When no exercise, it is...

Group Travel with diet controlled Type 2 Diabetes

The one I am particularly considering is a three week trip with some camping and some hotel stays in cities. Three decades ago I did something similar, but do not recall any of the group having any particular dietary requirements....the one I did then was marketed as an "overland adventure"...

Group Travel with diet controlled Type 2 Diabetes

I'm interested if anyone has travelled with a group where the catering is done a group basis and how they handled keeping to their diet. My own experience thus far has been with very small groups where the operator has been an individual or couple of people catering in their own premises...

    HbA1c results -any advice?

I had a slightly higher HBA1c at diagnosis. I attempted to cut out all sugar and and as much carbs as possible, replacing them with fat and protein. I too felt strong cravings for carbs initially but it was a matter of only days before these cravings subsided and I was able to stick to the...
