How is it unarguable? And who else should this extend to? Most double yellows are there because parking would be a hazard. Most t1's that I know have enough warning of a hypo to pull over somewhere legally to treat themselves.
Sorry, I am not about to make myself very popular.
Whilst I totally agree that people with any form of disabilaty should be discriminated against, I do believe there are times when the safety of others has to have greater consideration.
Road safety has to be one of them. Anyone who has an...
I think parking will allways be a contentious issue. Bit like parent and child spaces - is it an all encompassing thing, or is there a cut off? It annoys me when I can't get a space because someone with a child that doesn't need help with carseats is in them...
A fair few bucking the media image that all us t2's are so because we are overweight and lazy. Am sure I probably didn't help myself but of three siblings two are t2 and my sister currently has gestational diabetes. So I suspect genetics came into it too.I am the old one of the trio at 40.
I don't think diabetes alone should be a reason for a blue badge. The complications arising from diabetes may justify one. If a persons diabetes is so unstable that they may need to pull over at any moment then perhaps they should not be driving.

I guess anyone who has any kind of restricted diet has the same frustrations. But shops and restaurents can only carry so much stock so they cater to the "normal" diet.
Just my tuppence worth. A child of that age us like a sponge. Now is the time to teach lifelong good habits, so allowing her to take some control has to be a good thing. However I would still keep overall control. As Jen says it is a huge responsibilty for such a young child.
I may be being...
I stand by what I said. A t2 becomes diabetic because they had an existing predisposition. It may then be triggered by lifestyle, but if it was just down to weight
/inactivaty then all fat people would be diabetic and all diabetics fat.
I was diagnosed following two tests, both around the 7.5 level. The good news for you is that at thoses levels you have probably been diagnosed early and can make a real difference!
And it's the media attitude to t2 that has caused me to be so ashamed of of my diagnosis I keep it pretty much a secret. Both my brother and I are diabetic, as was our gran. I know of a few very overweight people who are not diabetic. I know skinny diabetics.
I believe my diabetes is an...
