64 -year-old semi retired accountant.

I was the original model for the grumpy old man and ought to state here that any views expressed are my own, dictated into this machine and only casually examined for grammar and spelling mistakes. I can guarantee that the sense of humour is my own. Not intended to insult or upset anyone, but if I do, I'm sorry. You could of course have a sense of humour exactly like mine if you'd spent the last 30 odd years conversing with people's navels or even lower regions.
I have been a wheelchair user for the last 37 years and insulin-dependent diabetic pump user for the last 15. Currently spending my last few years looking after my 89-year-old mother as she descends into senility. She is, of course, convinced that I am 12 years old and she is looking after me.

At the end of particularly hard days I often think to myself
"would I get away with a police caution for Matricide if I promised not to do it again".
I spend my spare time writing things which may be read by my children long after I'm gone or perhaps even by my grandson when he is old enough to understand it. I also rant against authority, particularly " Health & Safety" and those who are hell-bent on creating a vanilla society where nobody can be offended because nobody dare express an opinion contrary to the accepted norms.
I am a fervent believer in the use of insulin pumps for everyone. That includes people with type 2 who are insulin-dependent and please while we are at it: can we stop stigmatising people with type 2, they did not set out to chew their way to an early grave. I know that there are medical reasons for the distinction but we are
all people with diabetes.
