I was diagnosed with Type 1 back in 1964 when I lived in Kenya east Africa and have been giving insulin for just over 50 years now. Wish a cure could happen in my Lifetime but will remain hopeful. Anyone who is on Insulin and needs it for survival is classed as Disabled as without your insulin you can die. I have had good health so far though I do still have problems with high and low blood sugars and just when they get sorted they go crazy all over again and this drives me crazy. I am told I suffer from Diabetes Burnout as have had it for so long and it gets me down at times. But smile and have to carry on as nothing else for it.
