Being Induced At 38 Weeks!! -Baby Update!

How exciting! Totally agree with everything that Azure said above. I was induced five weeks ago and it was definitely a lengthy process! Make sure your birthing partner knows what you are am what you aren't happy with - really handy in case you are a bit too exhausted to comic ate coherently...

    Happy News! [emoji93]

Great news! I must have done about eight tests when I found out I was pregnant lol. My little girl arrived five weeks ago. I had to work hard to make sure my sugars stayed well controlled throughout the oregnancy, despite the hormones making my insulin requirements change regularly! It was...

    Induction or planned c section

Hi Finley, I was induced at 38 weeks. His was based on the doctor's recommendation. I didn't ask if I had the choice of a planned section as I honestly wanted to avoid one if I could. I went in to be induced and, unfortunately, even after three pessaries and a sweep, my little girl showed no...

One for the ladies! What was your hba1c when you got pregnant?

Mine was 43 when we conceived. Dropped down to 30 during pregnancy. I think the advice I was given was that it should, ideally, be below 53. Talk to your doctor or DSN, though :)

    Babies weight

I went in on Thursday morning to be induced. Unfortunately, even after three pessaries, my cervix was still high, posterior, and closed. I had cramping but no contractions. They monitored me closely and ended up having an emergency c section. That wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be...

Induction tomorrow morning! - Baby Update!

Hi all, Thanks for all the kind wishes. Little Evie Rose was born yesterday, and is doing very well. The induction didn't quite go as planned, so we ended up having an emergency c section. It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be, but time will tell what the recovery will be like! For...

Induction tomorrow morning! - Baby Update!

Thanks, Azure. I'm definitely expecting a long wait. If it happens quickly then that's great. But I'm not expecting it. I have looooooads of hypo treatments. 12 Lucozades to go in to the hospital, and another 36 in the boot of my car haha. Might have over-prepared a bit, but any spares can come...

Induction tomorrow morning! - Baby Update!

So, as the title says, I have my induction booked for tomorrow morning. Been waiting for the call from the hospital to confirm the time all day - and I am not particularly patient! Got to be in at 8am. So happy that it's early on otherwise I would be unbearable tomorrow! Just wanted to say a...

    Diabetic retinopathy in pregnancy

I had background retinopathy before getting pregnant. I was told that it's not too unusual given how long I have been diabetic. I've had extra checks throughout my pregnancy just to make sure it doesn't advance. Thankfully it's still just background although I have been told that I will need six...

    Work and Doctors Appointments

There are two doctors at the GP surgery that I am registered with that specialise in diabetes. There is also a diabetes nurse. Means I can have my reviews there rather than going to the hospital, which is where they tend to send people in this area. The appointments are then more flexible, so it...

    Diabetic teenagers

Hi Chloe, Unfortunately, you will always come across these people who think they know it all. I didn't deal well with my diabetes when I was a teenage at all. The fact that you are dealing with it the way you are says a lot about you. Don't let the narrow minded idiots make you feel...

    Annoying!

Thankfully I have not had any issues with getting test strips. My consultant at the hospital did say, though, that he will write me a prescription if I had any issues whatsoever. Might be worth asking yours if he/she could do the same?
