Originally diagnosed in 2012 when obese. Lost weight and seriously improved fitness which reversed T2DM.
10 years later, married with 2 children, no time for fitness, started losing weight without trying. Requested HbA1C, result was 124.
After confirmatory test, doctor put me on to Glic, 80mg, increased to twice daily.
Gliclazide, testing and reducing carbs happened at the same time, but the most effect so far has been from significantly reducing carbs.
Fasting BG now 11-12, hovering between 13 and 15 during the day.
Now starting Metformin, titrating up to 2000mg.
I am also lactose intolerant.
