    Medtronic 780g + Guardian 4

I'm starting the 780g and g4 on Tuesday, really looking forward to it. I'm interested whether anyone has successfully connected to a Garmin Smartwatch?

    Running

For one mile, about 10 minutes of exercise at the most, do nothing. Test your BG before hand, if <6.0 have a small snack, a biscuit or something similar. Test BG afterwards, have another small snack if needed. I completely understand where you are coming from, massive diagnosis out of...

Ultra running with diabetes type 1

Bloody simple to go keto as a T1, you just need to train to do it, you can't switch in on for race day and hope it will work. I've been up to 50 miles running using both basal/bolus and pump. Injections, I took half basal the night before, half a unit basal the day of the race and half a unit...

Heathrow and the Pump interrogations and scaners and xray machines!!!!!

I travel through LHR about 3 weeks out of 4 for work. My advice - get over it, and carry a letter. You're special and unusual I've never been forced through a body scanner, I've always had a pleasant conversation with the security supervisor, the most I've had to wait is about 5 minutes...

Effects of cold on insulin effectiveness

Yep, same issue with the cold meter when out cycling or running in the winter. When that happens I just eat as usual and check at the next cafe stop

    Advice on the insight pump

Its far better than the cellnovo, that was an unmitigated disaster. I've had it for about 3 years now and it's great vs the pen. You just need to be a bit patient with it. The timelags are deliberate to an extent to make you check things before just pressing buttons at random

Effects of cold on insulin effectiveness

your insulin can get too cold as well as too hot Drove to Birmingham on Sunday, with my luggage sat in the car outside a restaurant for 2 hours, then drove down to Farnham. Tuesday was cancelled so my luggage sat in the car again outside the offices all day until I drove home again. Spare...

    well another accu-check belt clip

I think I've broken about ten of these things, and the frame thing they clip into, might give them a ring and get another one if they've improved it

    Libre Confusion

That 12 or 13.8 would make a huge difference in correction dose for me. My total basal insulin on the pump is about 4 units/day and total insulin typically <7units/day. This was one of the reasons I went on the pump, much easier to manage smaller doses, particularly around sport/exercise...

    Libre Confusion

@Snapsy 12+ tests a day before the libre :wideyed:, I'm typically 7 except when out on a long run/ride, where it's one per hour. Really that is what the libre would eliminate for me.

    Libre Confusion

I've got my annual appointment coming up, and I was going to discuss the Abbot Libre thingy now that it's potentially available on the NHS. I'm not clear from their website though as to whether it's considered suitable for pre-meal readings to decide boluses? If so, how or if, would it...

    Accu chek insight - things I didn't know [emoji51]

that's the first I've hear of changing the tube every 12 days with the insulin. I've been working on a 3-day cycle of cannula-cannula & tubing - cannula - full set and cartridge as advised by Addenbrookes. I did ask about changing the cartridge every 24 days as I'm usually still half full (only...

    OmniPod startup - high BG

Thanks, just called someone in the trust there, sounds like it's fairly straightforward. At least that's one thing off my mind.

    OmniPod startup - high BG

perfect timing on this thread. I'm a pump user in Cambridgeshire at the mo, on the Roche Insight. I may be moving to the Kendal/KS area sometime soon. Do you know if that pump is supported? Thanks Dave
