    Reactive hypoglycemia, thoughts please?

Not easy to give a simple answere, as I think this depends from person to person. But for me, it took 3.5 year from I started having hypos, before it passed the 20 mmol mark. I still have hypos, but that’s because of insulin injections. I don’t struggle with RH anymore, those issues slowly...

Anxiety taking insulin in front of others

Not sure if this helps, but I have several times been asked by people I know how often I have to take insulin, when they found out I’m diabetic. So most people don’t mind. Just a few days ago, I was talking with someone about vaccination, and the conversation got in the direction where I said...

    Reactive hypoglycemia, thoughts please?

Sounds familiar. I started like that, blood sugar would spike up to 12 mmol, and later crash around 2-3 mmol. Lowest being 2.3 mmol, without any medication. I first got diagnosed with RH. Unfortunally my blood sugar continued to rise with even higher tops over the next months. And I started...

    Type 1 Libre sensor

To put it simple, Libre is terrible. Would never ever trust my Libre to check my blood sugar again, at all, Worst sensor I know of, and misleading. Libre sensor could be off by up to 5-6 mmol when I tried it, and that’s the best I could get after several days of calibration. In my opinion...

Levermir and Novorapid plus weight loss.

I don’t think it is related with diabetes, since you already started on insulin. Weight loss are normal before a type 1 diagnosis. It’s more common to gain weight as a type 1 diabetic when you start on insulin, I think I’ve gained roughly 6 stones since I first started on insulin. You should...

Monitoring blood glucose having reversed pre-diabetes

Libre Freestyle 2 is terrible unaccurate, would never trust it. It is mostly unaccurate, and often 3-4 mmol off when I used it. I often got readings of 8-9 mmol when in reality it were 13-14 mmol. And Libre could m even read 6-7 mmol when I would have really low blood sugar. Have tried to...

    Cinnamon

No, cinnamon do not reduce blood sugar or help with blood sugar. Sorry, but that’s just dumb. It’s an old myth, made by new age and people believing in the big pharma conspiracy. So easy and short answere, cinnamon does not affect blood sugar at all, not even the slightest.

Type 1 Insulin and fat storage

So if I understand correctly basal/bolus will increase the chances for lumps, compared to a pump, that pass out small doses of insulin over a longer timespan. Seem to make sense. :)

Type 1 Insulin and fat storage

Thanks, good to here that we’re all different, and not all of us that stab our bellies are fat :) I feel you. I do have some fat on my thighs, but still, it would be strange to inject myself there, and my arms just make me too concerned to hit a muscle or something. So after I gained weight...

Type 1 Insulin and fat storage

Thanks, appreciate your courage by posting :) Well, I’ve only used insulin for 4 years now, but rotate and switch sites on my belly. No lumps so far. Do all people get fatty lumps eventually? Kind of wonder, since one of my friends that have been diabetic all their lifes, only uses his belly...

Type 1 Insulin and fat storage

Ah, well I’ve gained 77 pounds since I started on insulin. Well, I’m kind of loosy with my diet, if I want something I usually eat it. So went from being normal to overweight here. But started thinking of it recently, how everyone I know, that use their belly as injection site are fat. Can be...

Type 1 Insulin and fat storage

Hi, not trying to generalize here, since I know everyone is different. But as a diabetic, and knowing a few others with type 1, I have noticed something. It might be coindencial, but I have noticed that type 1s using their belly as injection site, myself included, seems to always be fatter, or...

    Pre-Diabetic??

Not easy to say, probably if you felt something releated high or abnormal blood sugar :) Wouln’t worry too much :)

    Pre-Diabetic??

If you had blood sugar from 43 to 46 mmol you would be dead, after a few days. I think your doctor meant HbA1c mmol, a HbA1c from 43 to 47 mmol are considered pre-diabetic. If you’re previously diagnosed as diabetic, I would instead call it diabetic with well controlled blood sugar :)

If you had to guess the type, which would it be?

I can say with certainty that 8 mmol are not the reason you don’t feel well. Sorry, but blood sugar are not a personal feeling. 8 mmol are nothing compared to high levels that some diabetics have to struggle with. Sorry, but I have always found it a bit offensive when people complain about...
