I was diagnosed as type 1 five years ago.
I have had constant struggles to keep my blood sugar levels at a reasonable level, and they were often sky high for no reason.
I was feeling really poorly all the time, and was struggling to get more than an hours sleep at a time.
I started a new regime 3 months ago, on the orders of my specialist, and my levels have dropped down massively to near normal levels.
I have however been warned that my kidneys could have been damaged and only time will tell.
