    Who gets pseudohypoglycemia?

I'm hoping a GP change happening soon wi help. Tonight I experienced a drop in blood sugar to 3.5 about an hour and a half after a meal. An hour later it rocketed up to 10! Frankly I'm terrified of what could be happening in my body.

    Who gets pseudohypoglycemia?

Down in the south west UK (very far south west!) Unfortunately, I can't afford to go down the private route, nor can I acquire insurance due to being unable to work/afford it long enough.

    Who gets pseudohypoglycemia?

I used to be on a steroid inhaler, Flixotide, a few months ago, but my GP took me off of them because he was worried he couldn't properly monitor if it worked for me while coronavirus runs rampant. Now. I'm only on Ventolin, and he's aware that some foods relieve my symptoms.

    Who gets pseudohypoglycemia?

Unfortunately I just can't convince my GP to refer me to the specialist. They can't catch the low sugar in the act, nor do they see how high my sugar goes after a meal. Sometimes my sugar returns to normal after 2 hours only to climb again at 3-4 hours, other times my sugar remains super high...

    Who gets pseudohypoglycemia?

Today I experienced shakiness and nausea, along with some vague body symptoms, which signified low blood sugar, something I've experienced before. However my blood sugar readings were at 4.4 - 5.0 mmol, lower than my fasting but still normal. I admittedly had more sugary foods today due to a...

How high can blood sugar climb after a meal (spike) in non diabetics?

Thank you. Out of curiosity, what should our sugars be after 60 minutes? Very varying info on all sites, some say it shouldn't cross 7.8 mmol, others say there's no upper limit.

How high can blood sugar climb after a meal (spike) in non diabetics?

The sugar remained pretty high for another hour at the 8.9 mark. Unfortunately my GP said that that value after 2-3 hours was normally. Evidently it was not!

How high can blood sugar climb after a meal (spike) in non diabetics?

Had a chicken, veg and gravy dinner and some bread on the side tonight. Checked my blood sugar about 50 minutes after, because my symptoms were starting to show. It was 10.8 mmol which seems high. I think I read somewhere that even immediately after eating, sugar shouldn't go over 7.8 mmol. Was...

A little lost with my blood sugar patterns

Currently not on medication. What I eat can vary from a veg and chicken meal, to a few slabs of chocolate and nothing more. There doesn't seem to be a pattern with any particular meals, with the exception of instant noodles causing the biggest spikes.

A little lost with my blood sugar patterns

So the good news is my updated fasting and Hba1c blood tests have come back normal again. However I still need to keep checking my post meal sugars due to the 3.1 mmol result we caught once. The pattern I've observed so far is confusing me - for someone supposedly not diabetic, I sure how weird...

Blood sugar 30 minutes after eating?

Thank you for the quick reply! I'm still fairly new to the diabetes scene, so I'm not sure what a Libre is? :)

Blood sugar 30 minutes after eating?

I'm trying to catch the peak of my blood sugar after a heavy carb meal, so I can get evidence for my doctor to refer me for a glucose tolerance test - currently he is fixated on a normal Hba1c result despite my odd reactions to meals. Today I measured about 35 minutes after a bowl of weetabix...

Does it matter where on the finger you prick for blood?

Thank you for the prompt reply. I actually find not only does it hurt less halfway down my index or middle finger, blood more easily pops out of there.

Does it matter where on the finger you prick for blood?

I just realised today I may have been taking my blood sugar readings wrong. Instead of pricking the tips of my fingers, I've been getting blood from the sides of my fingers further down. Nearly about halfway down the finger actually. Will this make my readings inaccurate?

Crashes followed by spikes, a bit scared but kept a glucose diary of an event

My doctor is determined to turn me away from further diabetes investigations because my HBa1c average was just within the normal range. However from my home Accu Chek Performa Nano monitor, I can decisively prove that something is very wrong with me postprandially. Fasting blood glucose is...
