I’m still trying to fight a potential misdiagnosis for 13 years!! But they’re adamant I’m a T2. As they’ve said to me, I’m treated with insulin so it doesn’t matter anyway. I tried to explain it’s more about the support that comes with the T1 diagnosis as apposed to the T2 stigma. When...
Yes I found insulin definitely causes weight gain but it will be dependent on your amount too. The larger the dose the more Likely you are you gain because it is a hormone. I’ve had similar talks to my consultant and nurses. You just have to remember if you need it then you need it.
Thanks for your reply.
Apparently I’m showing thyroid antibodies and they want more tests. TSH are varying between 7-9 and they don’t usually start prescribing meds until over 10. I can’t lose weight anyway. Not feasible at the moment. They want to retest and look into further tests. Against...

I had to take insulin as normal and eat as I said previously.
Thankyou for the warm welcome.
Apologies but I do not. I was only given that number but told it was too low. I can barely get my numbers over 8 now. I don’t think they’ve been over 8 for at least a few months.
I have been an apparent T2 for 13 years. I’ve had no test to ever determine this. I was type 2 because I don’t lose weight easily. That was it. At 20, I wasn’t going to argue. I wasn’t aware etc.
From diagnosis I was put on insulin due to my age and the concern over T1. Which was later...
