I’ve actually had this in the work place. Started at a firm called Elcometer in Droylsden, Manchester and when I told them I was diabetic, was promptly told I couldn’t do my injections on the shop floor, had to do them in the toilet!! And also, if I was hypoing. go & find the first aider who...

    Basal insulin and no sleep

Mmm... when I first started basal (lantus solostar) I took it in the evening and then spent the rest of the night hypo!! So I now take it 6am every morning before work, tho I don't do breakfast and I'm fine on it.. have my dinner at noon, then tea about six.

GP reduced blood strips without agreeing this with me first.

This seems a constant battle with gp practice's we know they have to run a tight budget thanks to the Tory government ( that's another story!) But don't they realise that the only way we can get good balance and levels is to constantly test....??

    Insulin Pumps, yes or no?

Not for me... been type 1 for long enough to be perfectly happy with injections, anyway, the pump will get in the way of my bass guitar & I don't fancy wearing a pump in a moshpit.......!!!
