I am a type 2 octogenarian. hemiplegic since a stroke in 2006. Looked after by my wife I have 500mg metformin once a day with my evening meal,

6.2 yesterday fasting at 0730 after 500mg Metformin at about 1900 the night before (my only dose).

I am eighty-four. When my GP reduced my Metformin to one 500 mg daily, she discontinued the prescription for test strips. I sought some outdated ones. Has anyone any experience of these? My fasting glucose seems at about 6 at 0700-9800.

I am (almost) immobilised by a stroke, I use Metformin for each of three meal a day. Can someone kindly direct me to a reasonable testing regime and general advice, please?
