I'm sorry I didn't make it clear: they were searching my bag because of the needles and medication I was carrying, it wasn't just a normal luggage search (of which I have no objections against).

Hi Thanks for replying so quickly. As to your suggestion,I would fly from Manchester if I could but as its a school trip the teachers have chosen the cheapest option and so we are going from Liverpool. the trips in two weeks so its a bit late to change any way. Gill :) :) xx
