    Dodgy insulin pens

I've experienced this in the past and found the fault to be with the needle tip rather than the pen itself. Have you tried changing the needle tip? Does the pen plunger go down without an insulin cartridge in it? As it could be the cartridge. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Child proofing my tubing

Hi when I got my pump my youngest was a baby. I use Medtronic silhouettes which insert at an angle and therefore more secure if tugged. I wear mine clipped to my waist and my tubbing tucked down into my trousers. It has survived countless pulls, tubing being caught on door handles etc and only...

Feeling Ill & at the end of my tether!

Re: Feeling Ill & at the end of my tether! As far as i know to have a CGM you also need an insulin pump as they work together, im not sure a CGM would work on its own. I would ask about getting put on a pump as I had the same issues and my pump has changed my life. It is really hard to get...

    type 1 diagnosed 2/8/13

You'll be fine. You may find you put on some weight now your on insulin as you body won't be using fat/muscle for fuel due to high blood sugar. If injecting is really painful you could try putting an ice cube on the chosen injecting spot for a minute to numb the area before injecting. Great in...

My bloods go up for no reason!

If u want to go on a pump you must carb count otherwise the pump won't be accurate enough. I prepare my breakfast cereal the night before. So I weigh out the cereal and calculate the carbs and then measure them milk into a jug and calculate the carbs. I'm morning I just put the two together as...
