My Doctor just said to take Glucotrol 2x a day, In office right after breakfast. finger reading was 210. 3 hours later at home, 100. Should I take the Glucotrol? Diet is creating these spikes, I admit. Metformin makes my gastric reflux burn in my stomach bad.

The side effect I get is difficulty breathing as was also noticed by researchers. I did not get this side effect from taking regular Metformin, non- extended, 5oo, twice a day. I would very much like to know if anyone here has had this happen to them from taking the extended release tablets...

I see now I must cut down on carb consumption as you plainly said, I ate an equivalent of 10 teaspoons of sugar! I didn't know all that, EEK!
