Problems with Freestyle Libre 2 Sensors?

I've had exactly the same experience since switching. First sensor ended early, second sensor worked for 8 days, and then starting giving regular errors, then new sensor giving nothing but errors when first applied. My second sensor did rectify itself after a couple of days and is mostly Ok...

Splitting Lantus to lower morning test

I split mine 50:50, but i was previously taking it all in the evening and having overnight lows. seems alright on the Libre for me, if anything i maybe get an increase in BGs towards evening mealtime.

    Fed up

absolutely great post! At the end of the day, if you are able to manage your blood sugars accordingly, then you can drink / eat / do whatever you like. you won't be immune from other health related impacts, but life is too short to worry about everything!

    Struggle

I would say just keep doing what you are doing. The libre is a massive learning tool, in terms of timing and the effect of different forms of Carbohydrates. It definitely makes life easier. Hopefully you can apply what you have learnt so far to your old, normal day to day life and you should...

How long have you had T1

Three years, diagnosed at 33. heart conditions run in my family, so having diabetes and taking control of my diet and having closer monitoring of health in general has probably added 10 years to my life! Hopefully! Also agree that the stats for life expectancy must be based on historical data...

    Anyone getting Libre 2 yet?

Strangely, my consultant (fortunate to be seen under a centre of excellence) suggested that they were going to bypass libre 2 and go straight for the libre 3, as the Libre 2 is more Libre1s. Optimistically i believed it, but reading here seems unlikely.

Struggling to find life insurance (mortgage cover) with type 1

Might not help, but anyone who has existing life cover, there may be 'guaranteed insurability options' which can give you the option to increase cover in certain eventualities such as increase in mortgage, birth of children etc.. without medical underwriting. Workplace death in service cover is...

Cant find a cereal that doesn't shoot my blood sugar right up!

Probably opening a can of worms, but the accepted evidence is that eating processed meat such as bacon and ham on a daily basis is not healthy for your heart (possibly due to the salt?). Cereal may be fast release, but it is high in fibre, and heavily fortified with vitamins that you don't...

Blood is too well controlled? Getting fat?

I think the point is that with all other factors being the same, and if your ratios are in check, the more you inject the more you need to eat to maintain BG control, therefore more insulin = more weight gain. For example, if i inject 6 units, for me that might cover a meal and dessert. 4...

    Need help!

Obviously only your medical team can advise you but it does sound very similar to my honeymoon. I was fortunate in that my Mrs had seen some posters about the signs of diabetes in children, and when drinking back to back pints of water and weeing 5x in the night, she suggested i went to get...

Cant find a cereal that doesn't shoot my blood sugar right up!

Eat Natural For Breakfast Protein Granola | Morrisons and Fibre bran both worth a go. Defo need to pre-bolus for fibre bran and not go too mad on the portions. Personally,. I just always have big bowl of Readybrek with a spoon of honey in it now, injecting Novorapid about 15 mins before., I...

    freestyle libre sensor

yes - the worst thing was the pain! :) The sensor itself worked alright.

Blood is too well controlled? Getting fat?

Shouldn't be a massive influence either way, it could be that you are over injecting basal or bolus, leading to you eating more to correct lower BG. If anything i find with good control, my weight stays pretty much exactly the same. I do exercise a lot though, which to me really is key to...

Keep needing snacks to avoid low

Thats a lot of snacks! Nowhere near to that extent but I have had a few days like that mostly relating to a bottle of red wine the night before! the worst thing is it should be enjoyable but when it’s forced eating it takes the fun out of it! Either that or there aren’t any good snacks in...

    Freestyle Libre Wont Stay On!

Had this a couple of times where they get caught, but they have hung in there (literally) and gone the distance. the watch straps are good just to help the dodgy ones stay on. I never have to use minr much tho.
