Grannypat

Diagnosed by chance in 2011. Given hope by hearing Prof Taylor speak back then though I have never followed his diet. He said to me that it is better to lose weight on real food. I lost 2 stones by low caring and am now just above 7 stones (about 46 kilos)
My HB1Ac has gradually crept down to 44 currently and cholesterol reduced to good levels.
A letter from GP threatened to stop my precious testing strips (been getting them for about 3 years) but when I went to see the nurse about it and showed her the BG levels and how I monitor things she restored them!!! Hurray I know I am lucky. On the other hand I cause no medication costs and only see the diabetic nurse when she asks. Bloods are done every 6 months by the practice nurse and I get a print out.
