Was Type 1 from the age of 11 months until 4 days before my 55th birthday, thanks to a kidney pancreas transplant in August 2013. Wrote Fifty Years of Malfunction as a result, the aim of which was to help others who may have direct or indirect experience of what I went through. All proceeds from the book go to the Transplant Department at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.
