Ok thanks for all the replys guys. I had an eye exam today and the optician said my eye health was fine, althought I did need glasses for computer use. I guess this is a good sign because diabetes can damage the eyes.
Going to try and make an appt with my doc tomorrow to get that HBA1C blood...
Thanks,
I'll see about getting the bloodtest done next week. I just hope my doc understand the link between anaemia and HBA1C. How did you find out about it? Just wondering because I couldn't see much about it on Google - Did your doctor inform you about it?
EDIT - I had iron deficency anaemia...
Well my last blood test showed I wasn't anaemic anymore so when I next see my doc I will ask for a HBA1C blood test. All of my symptoms are probabaly just down to anxiety.
My doctor never mentioned anaemia affecting the results of the HBA1C test though. :/
Cheers
Ah **** that sucks.
I was on medication for anaemia for 7 months and the last blood test I had showed I wasn't anaemia so I assume it's all cleared up.
So when I go to my doctor I ask for a HBA1C blood test?
Cheers
It's strange you should say that. I had a blood test done around 12 months ago when I had these symptoms. My doctor said something to me about the blood test being able to see my blood sugar levels for the past 3 months - I assume you are reffering about the same one? He did not go into detail...
Thanks for the replys.
Just starting to worry again now as I remembered that the last time I went through a period of testing my self it was 6.6 when I woke up. Granted it probabaly wasn't a full 12 hours so probabaly nothing to be alarmed about.
I will probabaly go and see my doctor about it...
Hello,
Thank you very much for the reply.
I have been through a period of worry before and did end up purchasing a glucose meter. I tested my blood sugar levels when I felt the symptoms come on and they were always in normal range which I found strange. (They were never below 4 and never above...
Hi guys,
I'm a 20 year old male from the UK. I appreciate this is not a medical forum and I understand that you guys aren't health professionals, but I have a question in regards to detecting diabetes.
I purchased some urine dip strips from my chemist and they detect glucose in the urine which...
