Husband of Diabetic in distress, needs help!!

Hi Pymlar, In answer to the above, I do not take a gliclazide, I am on 2g Metformin and 10mcg Byetta, but don't know about others who get angry when sugar is high. As ken said earlier, it could be due to false hypos but again, something else for people to think about in the way that the drugs...

Husband of Diabetic in distress, needs help!!

Hi Judy Thanks for the above, glad its not just me who has the irritability when high bs. Your house sounds just like ours - hubbies on lookout for us. Up until now (touch wood) I have not had a proper hypo so dont know exactly what my mood would be like (and fingers crossed I never do)...

Husband of Diabetic in distress, needs help!!

Hi Ken, Yes, I have been going through the menopause, but my nurse's mum passed that stage a long time ago. Also, my hubby says I hadn't been that bad with the menopause. Usually it is he who tells me to check my sugar levels - which then turn out in late teens (usually no higher than 8 after...

Husband of Diabetic in distress, needs help!!

I am a T2 diabetic, diagnosed nearly 2 years now. When I was first diagnosed, my husband and I were told that he would probably notice when my BS was high as I would be very argumentative and angry. Maybe this is what your wife is suffering from. As previously mentioned, you deserve a gold...

    Actos /pioglitazone

Hi I was same as Cugila. On Actos along with 2g Metformin SR but had to come off it when I went onto Byetta. I did get slight swollen ankles on the Actos and this was another reason I was taken off it. Cheers Heather x

    BYETTA

Re: Anyone use Byetta? Thanks Cugila, that's what I thought but hadn't been given any advise re disposal. Cheers Heather x

    BYETTA

Re: Anyone use Byetta? Hi Just finished my first month on Byetta 5 pen, starting on the 10 pen in the morning. Had a couple of weeks bad nausea but been ok for the last 2 weeks, but expecting it back when I start the 10 pen. Blood sugars coming down great, mainly in the 6's and 7's and very...

    Side Effects - Type 2

Hi Seanie, Stevens-Johnson syndrome can affect soles of the feet and palms of the hands but usually with lesions. It also starts out with general cold/flu like symptoms of fever, sore throat, chills, headache. SJS is rare but quite serious so if you have any concerns, see your GP again and...
