Any ideas on what the Dexcom replacement limits are? I’ve not had a problem, and haven’t needed a replacement, but I do feel that we have a certain amount of responsibility to look after these sensors. I restore classic cars in my spare time and take reasonable steps to protect the sensors from...
I took up the free trial for Dexcom One+ and have found it works really well, I’m on sensor number 5. A very small gripe from me is I’m lazy carrying a phone around the house so have now turned the lost signal alert off. If you give the Dexcom a try, and decide not to change, at least you’ll...
Have a word with your doctor to see if he can prescribe an extra sensor on your prescription, Fortunately, my doctor doesn’t stick rigidly to prescription repeat dates so I always try to put in a repeat prior to starting my last sensor. If you’re living in a remote area he should be able to...
Dexcom gave me a call after I started using the One Plus. I’ve not had a problem with the Dexcom, but did suggest that they include an alcohol wipe with every sensor. the Libre adhesive was very poor, I found it necessary to shave my arm (no, I’m not an Orangutan) and clean the area with...
Another vote for the Dexcom One+ from me. I prefer the 10 day life as there’s probably a higher probability of it lasting. I’m on my fifth sensor and haven’t had any problems. I used a reader with Libre 2 plus and had regular failures with sensors ending early.
The final straw for me was the short life of the Libre 2 Plus sensors. I didn’t have any problems with Libre 2, but Libre 2 plus Sensors ended early with no warning. Yes, Abbott were good at replacing them, but I’d generally lost faith in them. A bit like buying a new car and finding it’s...
As an alternative you can ask to be prescribed the Dexcom One+ sensor. Like you, I had problems with Libre 2 Plus and was going to go back to a Glucose Meter. I’ve been using Dexcom One+ for an month and haven’t had any problems. The sensors have lasted the full 10 days and have been accurate...
I’ve recently switched over to Dexcom One+ and prefer it to Libre 2 Plus. I’m on iOS 18.5 with the Dexcom. I’ve always used the reader with libre sensors as I hate having to have a phone to hand. The reader is small enough to slip into a pocket.
Sorry to hear of your complications. Sometimes...
Yes, very easy to get on prescription. The Dexcom is slightly cheaper over a full year. If you decide to change to Dexcom just make sure you request 3 sensors a month as the sensor has a maximum life of 10 days. The Dexcom also comes with an overlay adhesive patch to increase its adhesion. I...
I asked Abbott for a list of error codes. Unfortunately, as expected, the list doesn’t include many of the various codes that appear in the Event log under Settings. I can only assume that codes not included probably refer to program events and expect that these are used by Abbott to identify...
The operating temperature range is 10c to 45c. If temperature is outside this range E1 Error code or Reading Unavailable should come up. I guess that storage temperature could be critical when a new sensor is stored for a long time. Probably best not to leave one in the glovebox of a car for too...
I wonder if dehydration affects the sensor. The sensors are used and licensed all over the world so I’d expect them to be able to cope with higher temperatures. You could be right, perhaps it’s a quality issue with certain batches? Perhaps some of us develop scar tissue around the sensor...
I’ve started my free 10 day trial of the Dexcom One+ sensor. The readings compare well with my BG meter. The sensor was started at 09:30 this morning. The sensor can take up to 24 hours to settle, but I’ve been getting accurate readings from start up.
