Hi i was diagnosed just before xmas and was told just to cut down on sugar i am very overweight

I used to take a couple of spoons of sugar in all my hot drinks. I cut out added sugar on anything. It was quite difficult to begin with and I suffered from what I can only call "withdrawal symptoms" - headache etc. Now I've adapted and if anyone accidentally adds sugar to my tea I find it...

    Feeling disappointed

I had a blood test shortly before Christmas and when I called at the surgery of my south London gp, the receptionist was able to give me a printout on the spot with the results. Happily just OK.

Newly diagnosed T2 - Blood Glucose Monitoring

I have type 2, but no medication prescribed. I have lost weight and my hba1c is now 42. I have not been prescribed a test kit so it's difficult to tell how changes to my diet and exercise regime affect my blood glucose level. Thanks to the advice in previous posts I shall look into paying for a...

Fair enough. Thanks for comment. My question was a bit tongue in cheek. While everyone else is slumped in an armchair I'll go for a brisk walk.

There didn't seem to be any "confirm order" button. How do I know my request has been received? May I suggest the website is modified...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Try spiking up scrambled egg with a sprinkling of finely chopped green chilli when served! Not for everyone, but I really like it.

EU - In or Out + Poll.

I am not very familiar with this type of forum, I did not expect people to tell me what they thought of what I thought. I thought they would stick to presenting their own views of In or Out. In general I do not think the internet lends itself very well to dialogue, where tone of voice and the...

EU - In or Out + Poll.

I'm afraid you misunderstood the thrust of my post. I did not wish to imply that what my Indian friend said to me years ago was a reflection of circumstances in Europe today, but rather to illustrate how yearnings for self-determination are rationalised. Maybe my original post should just have...

EU - In or Out + Poll.

For me a lot of people are trying to over complicate the issue. I remember years ago talking to an Indian who had lived under the British Raj, seen the process of independence and seen the outcome. He said that whilst the administration of the Raj had generally been good, he would rather his...

Poll: Which diabetes course(s) have you attended?

I don't know what is meant by DAFNE or DESMOND, but I did do a "Living with diabetes" day, which was excellent.
