Scared out of my mind ... any advice for a newbie mum x

Hi there - Honey bee here. Please don't be scared although it is a perfectly normal reaction. Your daughter will feel so much better on the insulin. She will go back to her normal self and will learn so much more about her body than any doctor could tell her. Insulin gives more freedom...

Well now. Have never heard of this Oldeboy. Sat up late last night and read up on it (understood it as best possible ) and had a long think. There was a great deal of confusion when first I was diagnosed with diabetes. Put on various tablets. Blood sugars continued to rise, weight loss...

    is lantus causing my myalgia

Thanks for this info. Gjimmy. I was on human insulin from the word go. Switch over was about ten years into treatment, so it makes sense. Do feel a little better on insulatard, but it is early days yet. If things don't improve - it will be back to the docs. Thanks again and I am pleased...

    This is for life . . .

Hi signs - Being diagnosed with any long term condition is like a mini bereavement for the life we think we have lost. Natural to be angry and upset. Remain positive, do your research. You will learn such a lot. You WILL be able to take control of your diabetes - not it take control of you...

Well done for the weight loss Mary3. You should be well chuffed with yourself. Can't blame you for venting. You are doing everything positive despite lack of encouragement from unprofessional nurse. Keep up the good work.

    is lantus causing my myalgia

Further to yesterdays saga, went to docs and explained. He said people on statins had probs. with myalgia. I told him I was not on statins, so he agreed to change insulin. After major discussion with some colleague on phone, he came up with insulatard twice daily 6/6. So tomorrow I am back...

Hoping someone can help me. Have had diabetes now for over twenty years. All o.k. at first. Well controlled on insulatard. (or should that be turd). No it was very good. Became a nurse, and so needed more flexibility, so was put on humalog and lanctus. Since then, have been diagnosed with...

Hi everyone , long term type 1 diabo. here.

Thanks Noblehead for your supportive words. Love your Chinese proverb. Quite true. The more I think about this the more I am convinced that lantus is my problem. Had every test in the book. No positive results on anything. I have decided to be taken off lantus and put on another type of...
