    I've been told that the 'stress' of lifting weights causes your body to produce cortisol which makes our blood sugars rise. The same happens to me when I lift weights

    Does anyone suffer from high blood glucose readings after weight training? I do, I've considered taking fast acting insulin before a workout to combat it as I know the stress of lifting weights means your BG increases. What does everyone else do to combat this?

    Chelseaace - funnily enough my pen was towards the end of its run, there was less than 50 units in there. So maybe it was that as well. Thanks Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Hi, like lots of people I carry my insulin pens around with me, my Novorapid Flex pen. I've found sometimes that after having my pen In my coat pocket for a few hours means that when I next inject (having worked out correctly how many units I need by carb counting), my sugar will be high...
