I am a 52 year old man who lives in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire where I was born. I have two older sisters and four nieces, I am also a great uncle three times.
I support Liverpool FC and also enjoy some light gardening and also do voluntary work one day a week in a polytunnel. I also live with a very friendly Border Collie dog who was a rescue dog and is great to live with. He is 13 years old this year.
I previously worked in the Royal Air Force from 1986 to 1995 but I was medically discharged after being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis which eventually led to me having major abdominal surgery/
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes when my blood sugars were found to be 43 and I had the symptoms of increased thirst and the need to pass water frequently.
I am now being treated with insulin injections, metformin and gliclazide, as well as diet.
