    Had to stop Mounjaro

When I got the medication home i found the details in the patient information leaflet confusing. So I felt it sensible to get some further guidance before I started. The new medication was as follows. Apixaban 5 mg. An anti coagulant to prevent clots in the heart. The second one is Lansoprazole...

    Had to stop Mounjaro

I was on Mounjaro 2.5 for most of January and was very pleased with the results. I had consistently low blood sugar levels during that period. However, 24 hours after taking first 5 mg dose on sunday i felt really bad. My heart rate shot up from 60 bpm to over 120 bpm. My resting blood sugar...

Just started 5 mg dose of mounjaro

I had my first 5 mg dose of Mounjaro earlier and was wondering if there's anything I should look out for with the higher dose. I did ok on the 2.5 mg dose. My blood sugar dropped by about 3 mmol/l, and I lost almost half a stone in weight. So I was wondering if there are any traps going to the...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

    5.8 at 0830. That's 2 days in a row under 6.0. I'm on a roll. Hope I can keep it up. [emoji846]

    Lunchtime Snacks

I'm type 2 and I'm happy with my morning and evening eating control. But I find it harder to achieve a good balance for lunchtime. I don't want a full cooked meal. I prefer just a snack that doesn't need cooking or maybe just in the microwave. I could use some suggestions on things to snack on...

    Libre without the sticky

I've not yet tried Libre. Given I have a problem with adhesive dressings, I am looking for solution s. I'll have a look at the things mentioned above. Thanks.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.6 this morning after 6.1 before bed. That's the lowest fasting reading I've had in over 2 years. And it's the first time my fasting reading has been lower than my bedtime reading. I've been on Mounjaro for 3 weeks, and although I'm still on the starting dose of 2.5 mg, there's been a...

    Libre without the sticky

Is it possible to use a libre type device without having to stick it onto your skin? I'm allergic to the adhesive used on most medical applications and wonder if there is a way to use this type of technology without having to stick it on my skin.

    Mounjaro

I've just started on Mounjaro 2.5 on Sunday. I'm type 2 and take Metformin and Jardiance. The injection was painless. The needle is so fine I didn't even feel it go in. I know it's early, but I think I'm already seeing some positive effects. My blood sugar 2 hours after my evening meal this...

    Daily Carbs

My understanding is that 250 mg of carbs is about the middle of the range of the recommended amount. It could vary somewhat depending on your total calorie intake. Personally I aim for about 125 mg. I just can't get by on the very low levels some on here seem to do well on.

    Any Experiences with Mounjaro?

I'm starting a course of Mounjaro on Monday starting at 2.5 mg. I hope I have as much success with it as so many in this thread seem to be having. The only thing that bothers me is the possibility of being sick. I hate being sick. Wish me luck. George D.

    Hyperglycemia

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm pleased to say that my blood sugar number has fallen overnight to 15 mmol. While still higher than I would like, I'm pleased it is well below where it was yesterday. I will get some fresh test strips this morning and see if my numbers are any different. I...

    Hyperglycemia

Hi I haven't been on the forum for a while. But, a recent blood test at the doctor showed a significant rise in my sugar levels. I don't know what the actual figure was yet as I'm due to see the doctor next week to discuss the results. I also have an appointment with the diabetes nurse next...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

8.1 this morning. That's after being 6.3 before going to bed last night. Just can't get used to how my bg is always higher after a night's sleep.

    Artificial sweeteners, for and against

I've been using sweeteners for over 50 years without any discernable bad effects. Definitely no bad effects on my blood sugar levels.
