    Accu Chek data software

Hi there So I've been given a Accu Chek Aviva Expert by my dietician after an ALFFI course earlier today. I think that it will be really good to help keep my BG low and to stop having so many hypos. However I don't have a PC and so just wondered if anyone is able to get data out using a Mac...

Cold weather causing sugars to rise?

Hi there I'm having the same thing I feel although it has been the since beginning of Feb I've been on the Insulin. I thought I'd got on an even keel but then in the summer I had to decrease my Lantus as I was getting a lot of hypos. However now it seems that whatever I am about an hour...

    type 2 insulin dependant

Hi there Try different injection sites. I had terrible pain injecting my Lantus in to my stomach as well as the novorapid, it was horrid. So I switched to injecting the Lantus in my thigh and although it stings a bit is much more manageable and my stomatch takes the novorapid better now too.

    IBG star

Hi there. I've just brought a spare one as they were on offer in Boots. It is great to be able to get all ther readings on the phone and then print them out for my DSN and Dietician. Also it is less bulky than my previous one which only worked with PC (i.e useless with a Mac!). Fingers...

Any T2's out there who are 35 or under?

I think Daibell is right the GPs etc dismiss you and all assume as you are that bit older etc., that you are T2. I had the GAD test but that did not not come up with anything and as I'm on insulin now I'll propbably never know as the c-peptide test would not determine how much insulin I'm...

Any T2's out there who are 35 or under?

Hi there! I'm 35 and diagnosed in October after also being diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy - double shock!! Anyway, it has taken a while but I'm finally feeling a lot better as the meds (metformin and gliclizide) were making me ill and not controlling my bg levels as they should in spite...

    Newly diagnosed, worried and confused!

Hi there I too was diagnosed in October after being diagnosed with those background eye changes (I'm 35). However mine needed treatment and so that I can say from experience that the eyes are very important and that the more you can do to stop it at the early stages the better (wish that I had...

    Please help!

Hi there To be honest the retinopathy was the first sign of being diabetic in October, so I've been walking around with it without knowing, for goodness knows how long. Changes were noticed on a routine eye test (even though I am a frequent visitor to the opticians for contact lens checkups)and...

    Urgently need help!

Hi Joxy I am having a similar thing as I was taken off the metformin as it was making me feel super bad. Anyway just left with the Gliclazide and getting really erratic readings and much higher than I was getting before. Fruit particularly seems to be a bit of a problem for me at the moment so...

Gliclazide and Metformin causing Low Blood Pressure

Hi there It seems as though it was the metformin as I progressively got worse and felt ill all the time! My GP actually believed me as I'd gone back to him after the specialist nurses at the hospital said that it could not possibly be the meds. Anyway he gave me the SR stuff to try and...
