    Husband ashamed of me...

Last night, my husband and I went to visit his brother with our 15 year old daughter for the evening. I ended up having an out of the blue hypo, bg went from a respectable 7 down to 2 in about half an hour. It was treated with oj and chocolates. Unfortunately, some of this time is a bit of a...

Is there such a thing as drinking too much? Not alcohol but diet drinks or water.

I need to drink between 4 and 5 litres of fluid per day - including a pint of water in the night to ensure that I wake at least twice to empty my bladder. I have an inherited genetic kidney stone condition called Cystinuria and have had 12 operations to remove stones and have passed 100s - some...

Is once a day testing enough?

Hi all, just a quick update - Dad's latest hab1c was 50, he has also maintained his weight loss. I have decided to keep a discreet eye on the situation, gently reminding him and mum about maintaining the low carbing and maybe introducing additional testing throughout the day.

    The SCREAM thread

Husband's just made himself a cup of tea for himself and did not bother making me one, because he is continuing a minor disagreement from Friday - how long can he continue this - can't wait for him to return to work tomorrow.

Is once a day testing enough?

Thank you both - I agree with you, I am worried about some of what he is eating - my mum gave him a Tescos fruit pie the other day at 35 grams of carbs each! But I am in an awkward position - despite being married 61 years and still very much in love, they argue like cats and dogs, and I have...

Is once a day testing enough?

My 83 year old dad was diagnosed T2 in July 2015. I immediately started him on LCHF and started him testing before each meal and two hours after. He reduced his hab1c down from 66 at diagnosis to 52 (he beat my 53!!) within 3 months. He also lost 3 stones in this time. He refuses to take...

    Desperate. Type1 daughter.

Thinking of you and your daughter, I have no advice, just my hopes and prays for you both.

Can't keep all the plates spinning..

@Gemma2 Thanks for the reply and for the information regarding Moorfields - I will contact the Support Line after Easter. The consultants did not appear to be that concerned about the Oedema - in fact they did not mention it at all during the consultation, but I only found out about it in the...

Can't keep all the plates spinning..

@Juicyj Thank you for your reply. The doctors want to see me in one month to review the left eye and he promised to have plan by then. I have blood in the back of the left eye, but there is so much they can't see where it is from. I also have asteriod hyalosis which is also obscuring the...

Can't keep all the plates spinning..

I have been a type 1 for nearly 44 years, I have also an inherited kidney stone disease which means I have had numerous operations, "blasting" treatments, countless UTIs, and have "passed" 100s of stones - which has led onto CKD stage 3. Because of the stones I have had sepsis twice, on one...
