    NHS artificial pancreas roll out.

Oddly no not last appointment as I have been in the past but having been horrified by all the dreadful things that would happen with high sugars I‘m committed to keeping them low but sugars above 10 are never commented on these days, the risk must still be there?

    NHS artificial pancreas roll out.

Are you my twin? Same age, HBA1c, BMI, but 38 years in and park run time not as good as yours! I had a go at trialling the Omnipod 5 two weeks ago at the review but told children, pregnant women and those with bad control will get it first which I can live with after all this time. As others...

    Covid and type 1

I'm day 7/8 of first Covid and still struggling a little with high blood sugars, as I'm no longer showing a positive stripe I’d have thought I'd have returned to normal basal/ bolus levels but haven’t yet. Does this go on for long? We're all different but am surprised it hasn’t settled yet.

    Statins and type 1

I’m a reluctant statin taker but have agreed to take 10mg Rosuvastatin daily to maintain an acceptable cholesterol level keeping medics off my back and have no side effects.

    Spring 2023 Covid-19 booster Vaccine

I had mine earlier today at Boots, Pfizer this time. Two days later, no reactions at all aside from a slight arm ache the first morning after, blood sugars completely normal.

Bloods for HBa1C- GP or hospital clinic?

Thanks, that’s the procedure I’m familiar with including nurse gauntlet, we are money makers for GP surgeries, especially if bloods meet their targets!

Bloods for HBa1C- GP or hospital clinic?

Thank you, it used to be this way with my surgery but told today it changed in Covid times for safety purposes & hasn’t changed back! I’m guessing it’s GP’s being under so much pressure and off loading back to the hospitals, not so good for us type 1’s though. Perhaps with Libre HBa1C estimates...

Bloods for HBa1C- GP or hospital clinic?

Can anyone help? I’ve been lucky enough over the last few years to have my GP husband take my bloods at home prior to hospital clinic appointment but it’s not now possible but my GP practice tell me this has to be done at the hospital which is 15 miles away as a separate appointment. What do...

    Wife's cancer diagnosis.

So very sorry to hear this, it’s so tough looking after your wife, coping with it and looking after yourself. My lovely, fit mum died last year after a similar diagnosis and like you, I found the diabetic side of things as tough as everything else, the emotions play havoc. All I can say is go...

    What’s happened to the forum?

Thanks, have now done this, it’s better but just preferred old layout I guess and still have the red heading but guess I'll have to get used to it.

    What’s happened to the forum?

Am so hating the new layout on my iPad, too much red! I’d like the old format back please as I can’t see any improvements with this yet.

    Libre 3

Odd isn’t it when it’s starting to be rolled out in Europe and the app will come from Abbott?

Ay least a year to diagnosis

You poor thing, what a shock and you are totally entitled to a huge rant! The main thing now is probably to put all the hassle you've had behind you, difficult as this may be and concentrate on the best way to get all the help you need to deal with the pancreatic diagnosis and to find the best...
