    Just wondering how many units of insulin people Inject per day? I inject 8 basal before bed and on average 12 (9-15) bolus units broken up throughout the day and I'm around 89kg.

    How were your levels after? Keeping simple sugar around is always handy. I use dark chocolate or raisins.

    Weight loss

    I Have't got any experience on a pump but lots on loosing weight. Trying to loose weight (maybe you mean fat?) while diabetic can be hard as insulin is a big part of it. I'd say have a go on injections first, If anything it can make you more aware of the effects of food.

    Hey Jessd, Don't fear the fat! :) 'good fats' are an excellent energy source and won't spike your glucose and insulin levels. Pairing a healthy fat and carbohydrate together will reduce the rate of glucose absorption also. Anyway a few good snacks are, greek yoghurt, blue berries, almonds...

    Doing it as an experiment will help with your flexibility, may give you an idea of how many unit you need for the number of carbs your eating. May allow you better judgement in occasions outside of your routine.
