    Type 2 BG levels elevated

Hi, I think the elevated levels are probably down to the cold and stress. Also, I have not been sleeping well which doesn’t help. I’ve gone back to low carb diet which obviously helps. I take metformin and Victoza (liraglutide) but I have recently started taking Gliclazide which has really helped.

    Type 2 BG levels elevated

Hi, carbs average range is 20/30 grams per day. Usually try to eat within 1 hour of rising then lunchtime and evening as BG rises if I don’t eat regularly.

    Type 2 BG levels elevated

Hi hope I’m asking in the right place. I buried my head in the sand as far as my diabetes (type 2 no insulin) is concerned due to other health issues. My hba1c rose to 121. I started eating sensibly at the beginning of October and managed to get my BGs down to high 6’s/low 7’s (estimated hba1c...

Type 2 BG still elevated 3 days after night out

Hi, I went out Saturday night and ate and drank things I know I shouldn’t have. I knew it would have an adverse effect on my BG levels but 3 days later they are still high despite me returning to my usual diet the morning after. Is this usual and if so when are they likely to stabilise? Thanks

    HbA1c test results

Would like to thank all of you for your input and encouragement. With regards to taking readings before bed I do this occasionally and have never experienced raised levels also I quite often have to get up after 2-3 hours of sleep to work and then go back to bed a few hours later. On waking I...

    HbA1c test results

Hi Pneu, thanks for your input. The nature of my work means I sleep/eat at different times and always test on waking, I also test randomly between meals. In all I test about 5 times a day so I don't think it it's likely to be unexpected spikes and if that was the case they would have to be very...

    HbA1c test results

Hi, in recent months I seem to have succeeded (or so I thought) in lowering my BG levels with dietary changes. I test every morning on waking and at varied times through out the day (before/after meals etc) and have a 90 day average reading of 6.3 which according to the Diabetes uk calculator...
