Take him to a +e. They will test him for type 1 if his blood sugar is really high. I was treated as type 2 incorrectly for 3 years. Eventually had to go in as emergency as blood was so high. Diagnosed as type 1 at 58. Gps never listen they think we are all stupid. Diabetes team in hospital told...
That's what I was expecting to be honest, but I just didn't know what else to do. As it turned out they were amazing, was the best thing I ever did!! its so wrong when they leave you suffering, I hope you are well now.
I wrote a letter of complaint before all this happened. I received an answer saying they had followed NICE guidelines and done everything they should have!! I am waiting till I have seen the consultant next week, to get the full facts-then I will decide on my next move!! Thank you for all your...
Just to give an update to my situation. My blood sugar continued to be out of control and often just reading as 'HI'. On sunday after yet another hi reading I went in to A&E. They kept me in for 2 days and the doctors were appalled I had been like this for months and my GP wasn't doing...

Thanks Jim I do try to stick to less than 20g per day. I find its mostly green veg as I am not a meat eater. Its a bit dis heartening though to get poor results when I feel I am trying hard!

Medichecks did the test. It just said it's within normal range 1.49 ug/l. Apparently normal is within 1-5. I have looked at online converters and it's converts same in mg/l so still 1.49. I was expecting it to be a lot higher if I was type 2 or lower for type 1 tbh It's thrown me a bit.
