    Chronic Fatigue

Thank you for the responses. I have been taking vitamin D supplements and a multivitamin with iron, these probably take time to have any notable effect. I have also had covid a couple of times and long covid did cross my mind. I am currently not on statins but didn't specify this so thank...

Basal requirement has doubled in 3 months. Is this normal?

Hi, I have had issues during the night and something called the Dawn Phenomenon. Your body releases hormones that raise the blood sugars to wake you up. This has only been an issue as an adult, so may not be the same. I am sure you have contacted your Diabetic team and would recommend whatever...

    Chronic Fatigue

Hi, I'm sure people will have experienced this as it's part and parcel of being T1D. But recently this has become more debilitating, I'll have a full night's sleep and wake up exhausted. I've sporadically exercised throughout my life, I have found recently that this completely wrecks me and...

    Marathon

Hi, I've done the Yorkshire Marathon twice with varying results in blood sugars. At the beginning of the race I aimed for slightly higher than target range, but this is usually the case with the inclusion of nerves and excitement. Attempting the first marathon I used a bag and checked my...

    Negative Coeliac Results

Hi everyone, Apologies for not getting back to you all sooner. @AndBreathe @becca59 @CB67 thank you for the responses. It just grinds you down a bit on top of life. I had consumed gluten leading up to the tests but may consider cutting things like lactose out in somewhat of an elimination...

    Negative Coeliac Results

Thanks for the reply @EK297 , I haven't considered going private tbh. I am currently at the stage of frustration where nothing seems to work and seemingly get passed from pillar to post. Whenever I contact the GP it's usually suggested to go through the Diabetes team and vice versa! I'll have...

    Negative Coeliac Results

Hi everyone, I requested a coeliac screening from my diabetic team and the results came back negative. I still feel something isn't right but when asked for further advice it was brushed off and assured that I am not suffering from this. Instead of exploring other conditions, I was told to...

    Fatigue

Hi @StewM It's good to hear that there is a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. I do often exercise sporadically, but probably don't get outside as much as I'd like so I'll bare this in mind. Thank you!

    Fatigue

Hi @sleepster Thanks for the reply I do get my bloods checked but often is a passing stage of an appointment and get told everything is fine. I will get in touch with my GP and see if I can get booked in, it's been pretty hard to get any communication of late.

    Fatigue

Thanks for the reply @urbanracer, I'd say both my diet and sleep are pretty good. I often get at least 6-8 hours of solid sleep but wake up tired. As far as diet goes, I can only think that an intolerance might be the cause or potentially coeliac disease but I am aware of how hard it is to get...

I have been suffering from fatigue, often after eating food and it can be quite debilitating. Testing blood sugars, the do go up and down...

Higher fast action dosage needed after breakfast

Thank you all the responses. It's good to know that others are having similar problems and finding solutions. Right now I take 20u of Toujeo in the morning before breakfast. This can vary from 6.30am to as late as 10am.The suggestion of a basal or experimenting with skipping breakfast and...

Higher fast action dosage needed after breakfast

Hello everyone, First time posting on here. I have often read threads from others and taken advice so I thought why not sign up and become a part of the community. After having breakfast (varied from toast, yogurt and cereal day to day) I often find I need an out of proportion dose of...
