Difficulty handling high protein/fat foods with insulin pen

Prakashbhai...i.am Type 1 also. Fat and protien is a problem for me too. It took forever to learn that fat + protien + carbs always means roller coaster ride for me. Low first and then high after 4 to 5 hours of eating. So I would try to reduce carb when eating with fat and protein. Won't be...

    Any help/advice

One thing I would start doing is if you are home most of the time then go out for long walks everyday. Try and get at least 15000 steps a day. This might help bringing down the sugars and keeping the line below 13 level. I would also take some sugary drinks while on walk to treat any surprise...

    Slow-healing infected wound

Someone got my comment about turmeric deleted here. I was just trying to help as it has helped me with my wounds. Maybe someone thought I was joking. Trust me I would not joke here as I am here dealing with my own diabetic complication which is way bigger than a wound. Just because I suggested...

I saw one of your post where you in the morning you go walk your dog without eating any thing and you are giving your self insulin dose for high reading. Same thing used to happen to me. What you have to try is even if you are high in the morning, eat something with carb..doesnt have to be high...

    Metformin for type 1

Jess I dont think you need to go low carb. What are you typically eating at night? It took me long 30 years before I could figure out why I was having high blood sugars. Everybody processes food differently. So you will have to try a lot of different styles of food.

Proliferative Retinopathy and macular Edema questions / help.

Hey sorry for the late reply. I hadn't logged in to the forum for a long time. Anyways that blur you see is probably the result of edema.
