    Ulceractive Colitus & Type 2

As a former UC sufferer (now pouchie) that was ignored by the doctor and not diagnosed until it was too late to save my colon (which had to be removed in emergency procedure in 1999), I'd strongly urge you to take any medication offered to keep UC under control.

    Low Carb Just "a Fad".

I would ask to see his qualifications to give nutritional advice - unlikely he has any. As a teenager in the '70s I was heavily into body building just to build myself up. Every serious bodybuilder then targeted high protein low carb foods to build muscle and burn fat especially leading up to a...

Seem to be reacting to Dairy now!

The A1 β-casein protein found in most cow's milk is very similar to gluten and can have same effect if you are sensitive to it. As others have already suggested, try goat's, ewe's, buffalo etc milk products as those animals only have the A2 β-casein variant (as do humans). I haven't tried it...

    Flash sensors

I'm also using the Glimp app on my smartphone to read the sensors. Glimp only shows the raw sensor data so it is different from the values you see on the Libre reader, but after adding a few finger prick glucose readings to Glimp, the resulting chart is adjusted to something a bit closer to...

Low carb diet and night cramps....help please!11

Sodium and potassium should be kept in balance - refer to your 'Urea and Electrolytes' test results if you have them (Serum Sodium and Serum Potassium levels). You should take into consideration other factors such as medication, high blood pressure, kidney function, doctors advice etc. Since...

Low carb diet and night cramps....help please!11

The slimline version is good unless you are affected by the artificial sweeteners. Consider using LO SALT - it is one third sodium and two thirds potassium.

    Want to reverse prediabeties

Hi, in 1999, I was medicated with intravenous corticosteroids constantly for several weeks in an attempt to treat UC. Since diagnosis of T2 diabetic (HbA1c 60) in 2015, and obtaining access to past test results, it appears that I was probably prediabetic for at least 12 years before diagnosis...

Could Baked Beans be the answer?

Nope not needing any reply, but since it was bumped (and I'm bored), I thought I'd add my two penneth.

Could Baked Beans be the answer?

Have you tried Cannellini beans (white kidney beans). They taste just as good as baked beans (IMHO), saves having to wash off the sugar laden sauce and apparently have many health benefits - example reference: https://draxe.com/cannellini-beans/ Sorry can't comment on how they affect blood...

    On even more antibiotics now!

Unfortunately, they couldn't find the stone with the first ultrasound scan that the GP arranged. They later found it by injecting dye and a performing CT scan. Most likely would have been much quicker if it was found on initial scan. I hope you have more luck.

    On even more antibiotics now!

Sorry to here of your continuing kidney pain. I had similar achy pains, protein and microscopic amounts of blood in urine, occasional blood clots, reduced kidney function and later lots of blood in urine! I was on various antibiotics for approx 15 months before the kidney stone was zapped with...

My right side is really aching.

Same here. 15 months of constantly reoccurring S. aureus infection and varying degrees of right sided flank pain was eventually discovered to be an 8 mm kidney stone, but they couldn't see it on the ultra sound scan for me.
