Hi. Having been Type 1 for 4years, I have had no trouble with obtaining meters or supplies until recently. About a year ago, I acquired a Breeze 2 meter which I found ideal, but for the last 3 months obtaining test strips has been difficult. I contacted Bayer who assure me there isn't a...

    Accu Chek Mobile, any good?

Hi. I have a Breeze 2 meter which Bayer sent me, and which I find excellent. There are 10 strips in a disc, but unfortunately they are not easy to obtain at the moment. May have to change soon so am taking note of all your comments.

How old were you when you were diagnosed?

I was 32 when I was diagnosed, but think I had had it about 4 years. I started off on diet only, then on increasing numbers of tablets (after weight sank to 6st.13lbs) and after about 3 years went on to insulin. 12 months ago (after asking to go on a Dafne Course and being refused because I...

Is itchy skin related to diabetes?

My Type 1 is well controlled but I too have itchy skin (mainly at and during the night and on my stomach). I too can scratch it raw at times. However my GP gave me Betamethasone Cream which stops it immediately. Don't know if it can be bought off prescription though.
