Driving with blood sugars of lower than 5 is the same as drink driving and if caught you could lose your license .....been there for another complaint .....18 months to get my license back
I usually take 4 hours hospital appointment leave plus half a shift holiday so they can't say I'm not being helpful .....and under the dad regs you're covered as it's a hospital appointment for your condition
HR are there for the companies use not yours ....I know that from my experience with diabetes at work.... If you are in a union they would be my first port of call not HR [emoji106]
I'm type2 on insulin and 3 types of tablets plus BP cholesterol and pain meds I think it's a minefield just to say 'diabetic' been off work since before christmas with a foot infection/cellulitis then an ulcer .....I was meant to go back to work the sunday night of the lockdown...
The last course I attended was around 15-16 years ago ......that was about using insulin and food amounts etc....that was set up mainly for t1 diabetics but as you do I had to keep reminding them that some T2 diabetics are on insulin too ....I dont think it went down too well at the time [emoji848]
You need to eat but still need to inject .....the less you eat the less insulin you'll need .....but when you throw exercise or activity into the equation then your sugars might drop ....then you'll eat and inject and the cycle starts all over again .
I hope that helps a little but as you've...
I went from 18st to 24st after starting insulin ....watch what you eat and keep up on your blood sugars it can get crazy chasing your insulin/eating routine .....
