    Issues with highs - 780g

@Oblomov my thoughts exactly. We have an algorithm that doesn’t work for a select few. I’ve looked at coming out of Smartguard as well but after you have had it for so long, the thought of testing bsl before each meal which for me is sporadic, made me go back into Smartguard each time. They’ve...

    Issues with highs - 780g

Hi Oblomov, you are right, the 780 algorithm is way too conservative to keep you on target. I too have spent 2.5 years cursing mine, and reminding myself that I’ve only got 18 months to go until I can get hooked to a t slim and destroy the 780…. As my life has lots of variables eg shift work...

    Fiasp in 780g

Hi all. Changing from Novorapid to Fiasp tomorrow in my Medtronic 780g. Anything I should know? Also did it benefit anyone enough that it was noticeable? Thanks.

    Medtronic 780g + Guardian 4

And yes it must’ve heard me talking bad of it because the sensor just failed [emoji23]

    Medtronic 780g + Guardian 4

Sorry @JohnRos I didn’t ever follow this post, from way back then the G4 never really improved. Even now here at 1am I’m getting a sensor updating warning, the fifth one in 12 hours on a 4 day old sensor. I guess I gave up looking for answers and am patiently counting down the next 18 months...

    Medtronic guardian 4

You know that the last three times I’ve dealt with them I’ve told them they should concentrate on pumps and leave the sensors to the specialised manufacturers like libre and dexcom. They make them well. The only reason I haven’t started running on of those is for the fact when Smartguard does...

    Medtronic guardian 4

Gordontoo, I am also a fellow Aussie that was silly enough to get involved with a Medtronic pump and sensor. As you can see, I have the same issues, hence being awake and looking for answers at 1 am after having another sensor fail. Originally a user of the 640, it was brilliant. The 780 is...

G4 sensors - Not compatible with me! [emoji22]

I feel your pain Vix. I get 4 days out of mine, 5 days is like a lottery. Medtronic have replaced my transmitter and first sensor in failed immediately. I told the wife I think I’m suffering burnout from it. The biggest mistake I’ve made in recent times was choosing Medtronic over Tandem. And...

    Insulin pump for shift work

The Medtronic has no profiles once you go into smart guard. The only things you can change are your carb ratio and active insulin time. No basal. Where I believe from reading the t slim still has basal rates in the background. Before cgm and smart guard, my endo team and I made basal rates for...

    Insulin pump for shift work

Hey all, not really a direct question, more of a general discussion on which insulin pump would be better for shift workers. Currently should be on night shift but as I am down with the flu at the moment, (so even the best technology has no hope for controlling bg!) so with the main focus being...

    Medtronic 670G - Alarm Fatigue

How old is your transmitter? I know a few months ago I was being woken several times a night, sugar was apparently spiking and dropping yet I didn’t feel it. Couldn’t work it out and Medtronic replaced my transmitter that wasn’t all that old and haven’t had a drama since.

    Issues with highs - 780g

Yeah not sure. I just chimed in the other day and was the last reply. Maybe I scared everyone off???

    Issues with highs - 780g

Hey Dee. Your carb ratio is wrong. I started off like this with my endo having my ratio at 15:1 and refusing to change it. I’ve since gone against and am at an 8.5:1 and 10:1 during periods set and I’m now 85+ TIR. And that’s coming from someone that has had a deadset gut full of Medtronic CGM….

    Medtronic guardian sensor calibration

Could be. But then I don’t have a choice on the back of arm. Be some training in going back to the tapes.

    Medtronic guardian sensor calibration

Thanks. Yeah they know. We’ve had a continuous communication going since I changed up to the 780 in June last year. There has been a lot of attempt made to help, and I admit I did get very frustrated, but now I’m resigned to the fact that it’s not going to work. My only frustration now is having...
