    Sardines in oil

I generally have a tin of sardines with the bones in daily for the calcium (I can't eat dairy apart from butter) spread on keto flax bread (also high in calcium). I usually try to get them in brine or olive oil but not everywhere sells those. If they come in tomato sauce I just leave most of it...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

If I remember correctly from seeing it in a very old cookery book somewhere it's not too difficult, and is famous for being the means by which Shakespeare has Lady Macbeth slip some handy poison to the guards in "the Scottish Play" lol - a perfect dish for Halloween then perhaps!:hilarious:

    Renal Calculi

I'm prone to kidney stones and so have to make sure I include the following strategies in my day: Drink between 2-3litres of water daily flavoured with a bit of lemon or lime juice (keeps kidneys flushed but also the citrus juice raises citrate levels in the blood which apparently helps prevent...

First of the low carb processed food deluge

Having said that a decent keto-friendly, non-dairy, non-soy commercial ice-cream would be very welcome, but I think I might have to wait rather a long time for that lol!

First of the low carb processed food deluge

Whilst I do allow some (about 10%) non-Paleo "industrial" foods into my Caveman-ish keto diet (like a bit of soy sauce and fake sweetener here and there) I still think there's nothing like sticking to "shopping the perimeter" of the supermarket, where the real human food tends to be! From what...

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Oh yes Hermesetas/saccharin is very fake, no getting away from that, and probably one of those chemical compounds that Mother Nature never intended us to eat in any great quantity lol! I really wish I could love stevia, and maybe if I were to try some of the liquid options that might be better...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I noticed that there's quite a lot of cool low carb stuff on ebay from Germany but as @Chook said postage can be steep - will take a look at the shop you mentioned though and see what goodies they've got and maybe put a bigger order in to make shipping worthwhile. Thanks for the heads-up!

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Thanks @AloeSvea ! I can't do fake sugar either - basically anything with a name ending in "-ol" I have to stay away from because my body seems to detect that it's chemically similar to sugar and I get terrible cravings (and then risk bingeing to the point of the "laxative effect" mentioned on...

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Hi I'm a prediabeic lady from County Durham England, 47 yrs old, and have Type 2 diabetes on both sides of the family. I've had struggles over nearly a lifetime with my weight and a huge appetite! Discovered LCHF last year and combined it with the Paleo diet I'd been exploring previous to that...
