Viacyte's T1 cure still would require immunosuppressants so would be a treatment, not a cure, or that's the first one, the second they do reckon to survive the immune system so we'll see :)

I got it a little after the plastic syringes came out but they were 12mm long so you had to pinch, but I'm sure it was called an intramuscular injection back then. I did thank my clinic a couple of years back when they changed me to 4mm needles :banghead::banghead:

Good morning and a brighter day today as I can put my plastering tools away away :) :) (poetry that :p) so the feeling of relief is strong today, or it will be until I pick the sanding block back up :) I'm definitely working more efficiently with the miaomiao on, when I plastered the kitchen...

Unexplanied night time highs - Advice plz

Have you tried the/a correction bolus earlier say around 9pm? If that was me (it's not and I've never used levemeir or a split basal) I'd correct at 9 and probably up my basal by a couple of units but run like that for a week to settle.

    T1 food.

2 Weetabix for the first course and eggs Benedict for breakfast, I don't usually eat fatty foods but it was a good brand of bacon in the markdown fridge and it jumped in my basket as I passed by :p 5u Humalog which is 0.5u less than the standard breakfast.

Good morning,5.5 waking and ready for breakfast, which for a change will be Weetabix & eggs Benedict and I'll remember to restock my Mornflake porridge oats later :) A day stood on a hop up sanding the living room ceiling for the penultimate time and a cycle ride later, next week will 'really'...

    Cannabis and type 1 diabetes

I'm a 53 year old recreational smoker preferring that vice to alcohol, munchies are the thing tho :p and I've had some nasty spikes when doing the Amsterdam coffee shops and the food counters on the streets drag me in with their pizza slices and such in open view to tempt you over (I leave De...

But that's not quite correct, the mice are given a chemical that damages their β cells to cause diabetes and then they experiment on them so when or if they're 'cured' or start producing some insulin there's not the immune system in the way.

Illness and not sure what to do

Glucagon https://bnf.nice.org.uk/drug/glucagon.html is for if you're unconscious and it works pretty well :p in nature the body makes it to raise our blood sugars when needed but as a T1 with injected insulin causing the hypo the T1 can't make enough, hence the injection.

I used to clean the windows of a lass who'd had the pancreas/kidney transplant, I'm sure she knew the 'source' (no offence meant in using that term) of her new organs, we'd have a crack about it all, me "I was hypo this morning" her "it's been x years x months since I've had one ner ner ner :p)...
