Thanks very much GrantGam - it's for a holiday in Spain and on the phone there was a bit of a language barrier so online seemed easier until as you say the website doesn't cater for these circumstances, I'll call again.

I am trying to hire a car but the car rental companies seem to require the licence issue date to be more than two years ago. Due to the DVLA providing type 1 diabetics with 3 year licences, I had mine renewed Oct last year so the issue date is only about 4 months and I cannot rent a car online...
